COMMUNITY OUTREACH

Bring your group to our ranches or let us do a presentation at your school, meeting or event. We will work with you before your visit or event to determine the content and length of the presentation that are most suitable to your group and occasion. Ranch group visits have included Social Organizations, Fiber Artists (knitters, etc.), and Youth groups.

Topics can include

• Alpaca history, basic characteristics and care
• Spending time with alpacas
• Alpaca fiber -- qualities, how it is used
• Alpaca fiber demonstrations (carding, spinning, weaving)

Presentations at off-ranch locations can be arranged for Western Nevada and Placer counties. We can take fiber, yarn, carders, a spinning wheel and a small portable loom to demonstrate fiber processing. Members of your group can try weaving. We can bring alpacas if there is a suitable place for them.
